Custom project development often stalls during mold iterations. Because our dedicated tool shop operates directly within the manufacturing facility, CHIM handles mold adjustments and design updates in-house. We eliminate third-party queue times, accelerating custom projects from initial drawing to physical sample.

Controlled At Every Handover

Good quality cannot be tested into a finished product at the very end. It must be locked in when materials move from one workshop to the next under our roof.

The Material Base

We test the quality of our raw aluminum and plastic before casting or molding begins. This ensures the housing can handle heat uniformly before any parts go to the assembly line.

The Perfect Fit

Instead of hoping parts from different suppliers fit together, we control the assembly in our own shop. We make sure the aluminum housing and the PCB align perfectly with zero gaps.

The Final Test

The fully built light undergoes a full electrical, light output, and waterproof test. A 8-hour burn-in forces the housing, driver, and lens to work together stably as one piece.

Five checks that matter for your order

Before a production batch begins, the first unit off the line goes through a full inspection. Here are five of the tests it must pass, and why each one matters once the light is installed in your customer’s facility.

Waterproof Test

The fixture is sprayed with water at the pressure and duration specified by its IP rating. A leak that passes a quick visual check can still let moisture in over weeks of operation. This test verifies the seal holds under sustained exposure.

Dielectric Strength

1,500 volts AC is applied for one minute. The leakage current must stay below 5 milliamps. This confirms the electrical insulation can handle voltage stress safely, which is essential for compliance with European and North American safety standards.

On/Off Cycling

The light is switched on and off ten times across the full voltage range, from 120V to 277V. It must start within five seconds every time, and all light sources must start and stop together. In a real installation, inconsistent startup behavior frustrates the end user.

Photometric Verification

Power draw, power factor, color temperature, CRI, luminous flux, and beam angle are measured against the specification sheet. If the numbers drift from the spec, the lighting design that your engineer calculated for the project is compromised.

Pull Force Test

A 60-newton force is applied to the input cable, 25 times. The cable must stay firmly anchored with displacement under 2 millimeters. A loose cable connection can cause intermittent power loss that is expensive to diagnose on a high ceiling.

These five tests are part of a longer checklist. Each production batch starts with a first-article report that covers appearance, structure, specifications, safety, reliability, and packaging before the line is cleared to run.
